Answer: In most cases it's due to one of the following reasons.


Reason #1 - NI bug in DAQmx-enabled CompactRIOs

NI's cRIO-904X and cRIO-905X CompactRIOs can run in both FPGA and cDAQ-mode. 

These chassis have a bug that make the auto-discovery of ThirdParty modules fail.

Solution: The workaround is to add the module manually. Select "New target or device" instead

Reason #2 - Missing LabVIEW driver for the module

Each WireFlow module has it's own driver that must be installed on your PC in order for the module to be detected and used.


Solution: Install the latest driver for your module with VI Package Manager, VIPM. The drivers are available from:

  • NI LabVIEW Tools Network (search for "WireFlow" in VIPM)
  • Direct download from WireFlows Download page as *.vip-files.
